CGN

Introducing the Commerce Global Network (CGN), formerly known as the Exchange and Transfer Committee (ETC). 

CGN was introduced after recognition of our capabilities to expand our reach beyond previous initiatives in order to benefit the Smith Commerce Community as a whole. Therefore, instead of working mainly with incoming exchange students, we have broadened our reach to work with outgoing exchange students and international students at Smith. Ultimately, CGN’s main mission is to ease the transition between the Smith Commerce program and international communities and opportunities for students.

We work alongside the Centre for International Management (CIM) to serve the needs of exchange students, both incoming and outgoing. We work to integrate these students into life at Smith and beyond through hosting events, providing necessary information and resources, and overarchingly offering support. Additionally, we help ensure that Smith students are set up for success when going on their own international exchange, providing information and the necessary resources to ease their transitions.

Being a member of CGN gives you the opportunity to make lifelong friends from across the world, and make a profound difference in the experiences that exchange and international students have at Smith. Our executive team will be at the forefront of resources to ensure that individuals are included and feel welcomed into the Smith community.
